The countdown is on for the Hoedown at the Showground Saturday night, November 18, when 410 Sprintcars face off at Castrol Lismore Speedway.

The big guns are ready to fire as drivers from three states go at it on the tight confines of the Lismore Showground bull ring.

The circular arena might be small in circumference for the high horsepower of the 410 cube V8 Sprintcars, but that has NEVER stopped the ground pounding, thunder and lightning division from turning on big time action.

This is the second Lismore season for promoters Mick and Kim Sauer and both have worked so hard to make this coming Saturday night (November 18) a success.

“The entry list is great and we are very happy with the quality of the car count,” Kim said.

“We are confident it will not only be a fabulous night of Sprintcar racing, but Speedway entertainment at its best.”

This weekend’s show is “powered by McDonald’s” and Castrol Lismore Speedway management welcomes the restaurant giant as a corporate partner for the fixture.

Some of the best Sprintcar competitors on the east coast will chase honours in the 25-lap $5,000-to-win feature race.

Twenty Seven entries will converge on the City of Lismore and this car count represents one of the biggest in Lismore Sprintcar racing history.

Records indicate only the previous World Series Sprintcar Championship rounds from decades ago have attracted more entries.

Sydney stars Jessie Attard, Lachlan Caunt and Daniel Sayre continue their northern campaign and head to Lismore fresh from competing at the Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway. Another prominent Sydneysider campaigning in the region is Sam Walsh who is again ready for Lismore where he has shown winning form in the past.

Racing for Formula 500s, Junior Formula 500s, Production Sedans, Wingless Sprintcars and the mighty little Legend Cars also will be featured.

Production Sedan drivers have plenty to race for this season and November 18 features the opening round of the Halls Bus Company Production Sedan Track Championship.

The same applies to Junior Formula 500 competitors who will chase points in the TRJ Construction-sponsored Lismore Track Championship.

It’s also round two of the Grounded Masonry Wingless Sprint Track Championship.

Castrol Lismore Speedway sincerely thanks Halls Bus Company, TRJ Constructions and Grounded Masonry for coming onboard as track title sponsors this season.
