AMERICANS, SPRINTCARS, V8 DIRT MODIFIEDS HEADLINE BUSY UPCOMING SCHEDULE

The Smokin’ Hot Summer Series is about to unleash at Castrol Lismore Speedway commencing December 26 with the annual Boxing Night spectacular featuring the opening round of the annual Mr Modified Series.

There’s plenty of action planned at the historic Lismore Showground Speedway venue over the holiday period with fixtures also set for January 6, 9 and 13.

A highlight of the high time summer season racing carnival will be the return of the 410 V8 Sprintcars on January 9 with the appearance of Texans Aaron Reutzel and Chase Randall heading the all star cast of the fast.

Reutzel will again drive for NSW racing team Saller Motorsport. Meanwhile Randall lines up behind the wheel of the 3MP Chassis Australia car under the Mansell Motorsport banner.

Both will participate in the contest major Sprintcar shows during the Australian season high time and they could not resist the opportunity of competing on the tight confines of the Lismore bull ring. The promotional tag of the “quickest chicken comes to the hen house” via his sponsorship backing of Bush’s Chicken outlet sits well with Randall’s Lismore appearance. On the same theme, the super fast rooster Jessie Attard (NSW) also has nominated amongst the impressive entry list that also features a man who has done many laps around Lismore Speedway – both in V8 Dirt Modifieds and Sprintcars – namely Luke Oldfield. Can Mitch Randall, chase Randall – all these questions and more will be answered when the Sprintcars come to town on January 9.

Promoters Mick and Kim Sauer have lined up some wonderful speedway entertainment featuring the major and prominent support categories over the Christmas-New Year period.

There will also be an appearance by the Monster Trucks and the Hot Wheels Stunt Show as part of the New Year spectacular.

“This is the best time of the season for speedway in Australia and we have to take advantage of the holiday season by providing speedway and family entertainment at its best,” Kim Sauer said.

“Castrol Lismore Speedway has always featured a busy calendar – particularly in the first two weeks of January – and we have come up with a very impressive schedule that will please the hardened race fans and general public.”

Australian V8 Dirt Modified Champion Mitch Randall heads the entry list for the opening round of the Mr Modified series on December 26.

Twenty-five nominations have been received featuring all of the heavy hitters including former National Champions and Mr Modified Series winners Mark Robinson and Andrew Pezzutti. A good line-up from Wingless Sprints, AMCA Nationals, RSA Sedans and Juniors Sedans ensures a big car count for the Boxing Night fixture.

The first of the January shows follows the custom with a very special night of family entertainment at this time of the year.

Racing will be highlighted with the second round of the Mr Modified Series, while the New South Wales Modlite Championship is also on the card with RSA Sedans and Junior Sedans the supports.

But the big attraction will be the fabulous Monster Trucks performing their jumps and wheel-stand stunts, while a spectacular fireworks display also will be a big part of the family fun show.

This all builds up to January 9 and the 410 Sprintcars.

The supports are Production Sedans and Junior Formula 500s.

Another big night of family entertainment is set down with a Hot Wheels Stunt Show on January 13 when the mighty machines perform their spectacular ramp jump repertoire. There is plenty for Modified Sedan drivers to go after in their events during the night. The culmination is a $10,000-to-win main event! RSA Sedans, Lightning Sprints and AMCAs are the support categories.
