LISMORE SPRINTCAR SUPER SHOW JANUARY 9 ATTRACTS TOP LINE-UP

Australian Sprintcar Champion Jock Goodyer heads one of the best Sprintcar line-ups ever seen at Castrol Lismore Speedway with the running of the $10,000-to-win Lil’ Aussie Open on Tuesday night, January 9.

Thirty-six nominations have been received by event organisers featuring a strong American representation who will challenge the big names in east coast Sprintcar racing. Promoters Kim and Mick Sauer are delighted with the entry list for an event that will also be one of the most keenly contested Sprintcar shows ever witnessed at the iconic Lismore Speedway Showground Speedway bull ring.
“We are overwhelmed by the support that we have had from the competitors,” co promoter Kim Sauer said.
“The weather forecast is looking great and this promises to be something very special for our loyal fans to witness with the Americans in town ready to challenge the Aussies. It will be great speedway entertainment.”

Texans Aaron Reutzel (Saller Motorsport) and Chase Randall (Mansell Motorsport) are well into a Down Under hectic racing schedule after competing in the rounds of the Speedweek Series in South Australia and Victoria. Californian Kaleb Henry (JMS Motorsport) also has nominated, while it will be a whole new experience for Indiana’s Justin Peck who is also listed amongst the nominations. When he arrived in Australia recently he linked up with Domain Ramsay’s team based out of Geelong, Victoria for a southern racing campaign before heading to the northern states and a stop over at Castrol Lismore Speedway. Peck has turned in impressive performances on the American Sprintcar scene over the past couple of years driving for the Buch Motorsports. Peck signed for the recently formed High Limit Racing organisation for the 2024 American Sprintcar season shortly before heading to Australia.

One man who has had plenty of experience at the Lismore venue is Luke Oldfield courtesy of his many years experience in V8 Dirt Modified competition at the testing venue. He enjoyed considerable success in the V8 Dirt Modified ranks and that local track knowledge will come to the fore on January 9.

Another Lismore regular who most definitely comes into that category is Australian V8 Dirt Modified Champion Mitch Randall who is making strong inroads into Sprintcar racing. Mitch comes off a wonderful 2022-23 season when he took V8 Dirt Modified national title honours at Lismore. Both drivers know Lismore better than most of the out-of-town competitors.

Throw into the mix Australian Champion Jock Goodyer, Lachlan McHugh, Lachlan Caunt, another prominent entry listed from Sydney, Sam Walsh, and the scene is set for an epic night of Sprintcar racing at Castrol Lismore Speedway. It will be a busy night for NSW team Saller Motorsport fielding a two car assault at Lismore, with Michael Saller joining Reutzel.
