Castrol Lismore Speedway plans to acknowledge the people who have made such a massive contribution to the track’s wonderful history with the introduction of a Wall of Fame for the venue. Promoters Mick and Kim Sauer are excited about the first induction ceremony that will be held on Saturday night, June 22 at the Lismore Showground’s William Smith Pavilion.
There will be four 2024 inductees to be revealed on the night. Looking into the future, the objective is to make this Wall of Fame night the social pinnacle of the year for Castrol Lismore Speedway seasonal presentations.
“Castrol Lismore Speedway has such an incredible history and if ever there is a track in Australia that deserves its own Wall of Fame, it’s this venue. There are so many people on both sides of the fence who have made this track what it is today,” Kim Sauer said.
The venue also has the honour of being not only one of the longest running circuits in Australian Speedway history, but is also one of the original Showground venues that has given the sport an area location over so many decades – and continues to host Speedway at its ground.
