A MONSTER NIGHT WELCOMES IN 2021

It will be a monster start to 2021 at Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway, tonight.

It's the Monster Truck Spectacular in a night of great family entertainment supported with a racing programme featuring action for Street Stocks, Production Sedans,  Wingless Sprintcars and AMCA Nationals.

The night carries significant importance for the Wingless contingent featuring the opening round of their tournament over seven nights between now and January 24.

But, more than anything else, it's a Monster Truck show incorporating all the antics of these spectacular big wheel machines.

A car crunching repertoire including wheel stands and ground pounding action from a massive V8 powered monstrosity that will turn on the action. There will also be a roll-over car that will be performing, well, roll overs!

It's a unique opportunity for promoter David Lander to run a fixture this New Year's Day (evening) as normally the ground has been unavailable on this particular date in previous years.

But this season is different after the ground became vacant and David quickly seized the chance to put on a Monster Truck appearance and speedway show.

“It's a great opportunity to start off the new year with a spectacular combined Monster Truck and speedway show. Throw in a monster fireworks display and here's the perfect way to welcome in 2021,” David said this week.

Wingless Sprintcar drivers will be chasing early points in their domestic series that has secured sponsorship from Lismore Nissan, Cutting Edge Mowers, BH Contracting and Mahindra Tractors.

Other rounds in the series will be held at Grafton (January 2), while Lismore series events are also set for January 9, 16, 23 and 24.

Gates open at 4PM and racing commences at 5:30.
