COMPACT SPEEDCAR 2022 NSW CHAMPIONSHIP FOR LISMORE

THE New South Wales Compact Speedcar Championship has been allocated to Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway for next season.

Promoter David Lander recently completed arrangements for his track to host the event after speaking with NSW Compact Association personnel.

“It simply adds yet another major event to our 2021-22 season which is looking one of the best in many years,” Lander said.

“It will also give the Compacts plenty of racing over the Easter weekend as they will run two nights at the Grafton track before then coming to Lismore for their state championship on the Easter Sunday night.”

The New South Wales Compact Speedcar Championship is set for April 17.

April represents one of the busiest months of the season with the addition of the NSW Compact title.

Largely due to 2022 Anzac Day public holiday falling on a Monday, Lander has taken advantage of this to fit into the schedule two double header long weekend fixtures in April, totalling five meetings for the month.

In addition to the April 16-17 Easter two-nighter, highlighted with the V8 Dirt Modified Nationals, and now the NSW Compact Speedcar Championship, April 23 and 24 will also be consecutive night fixtures.

This will be the Northern Rivers Championship weekend featuring racing for Street Stocks, Four Cylinder Sedans, Junior Sedans, Production Sedans and Wingless Sprints.

The other highlighted April event will be the return of the 410 Sprintcars for a NSW Association show on April 2. (The NSW Association 410s also will be at Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway on December 4.)

“April promises to be a great month,” Lander added.

“We will not only host the Compact Speedcars, but showcase our V8 Dirt Modifieds as well as the 410 Sprintcars and all of our regular categories, too.”

Sprintcars will make three appearances at the Lismore circuit during the 2021-2022 season, featuring a round of the World Series Sprintcars Championship on January 13.

The 2021-2022 season will open on November 6 with the annual running of the V8 Dirt Modified Lord Mayor's Cup.

Other highlighted events during the season include two Super Sedan fixtures (November 20, February 19), Mr Modified Series (December 26-January 8), the East Coast Production Sedan Grand National (March 5) and the Modified Sedan Sizzler (March 19).

Wingless Sprintcars have a full season of racing set for the Lismore venue and their fixture dates will include the annual long distance events.

A Monster Truck Spectacular also will be featured during the January high time of the season on January 22.
