CASTROL Edge Lismore Speedway promoter David Lander is putting up $7,000 prize money for next season's Modified Sedan Sizzler on March 19, 2022.
This is one of the major events of the season and David was quick to point out the Modified Sedans have been a strong division at the venue with impressive racing in recent seasons.
“The Modified Sedans deserve to have this race as an annual event on our season calendar. They provide very close and entertaining racing and with some good prize money to be won, I am sure we will have a very impressive entry list next March for the event. The cars are presented in a very professional manner and look good on the track. I am sure the Sizzler will provide entertaining racing right from their first race.”
While a final prize money structure has yet to be established, it's envisaged the 35-lap main event will pay $1500 to win. Most of the money will be paid out for the main event with a likely $1000 for the runner-up and $500 for third with further payouts down to tenth placing.
Qualifying heats will decide the final starting line-up for the main event, while initial programme planning calls for a trophy dash and a last chance B-Main.
The March 19 meeting will also offer plenty of variety, with seven categories programmed.
In addition to the Modified Sedans, there also will be racing for the spectacular, wheel hiking V8 Dirt Modifieds, Wingless Sprints, Production Sedans, Street Stocks, RSA Four Cylinder Sedans and Junior Sedans.
The 16-fixture 2021-2022 season commences on November 6 with the annual running of the V8 Dirt Modified Lord Mayor's Cup.
