CASTROL Edge Lismore Speedway is getting into the Festive Season early with its annual Kids' Christmas Party and Santa Claus appearance as part of its racing programme Saturday night, December 4.

It's a night of fun and frivolity in the countdown to Christmas where the children take centre stage with their own events.

Santa also will not only be the star of the show, but also a participant in the speedway event part of the big variety programme.

That, in itself, will be a massive attraction for the kids.

The Kids' push bike races are always a highlight and they're on the programme again this year.

Children up to 12 years are welcome to enter provided they bring the mandatory safety head gear helmet. Without that, they will not be allowed to compete.

There also will be other attractions for the kids in what represents a carnival atmosphere at the ground.

“It might be early in December, but it's not too early to put on a kids Christmas party and get into the Festive Season spirit,” promoter David Lander said.

“We want this to be a night enjoyed by the whole family because December really does herald the run into Christmas and the big day later that month.”

It's all part of the fun, where the serious side of speedway and the hard core racing that goes with it, shares the billing with the novelty events in keeping with the kids party celebration.

The racing side of the family entertainment programme will feature six car categories.

The V8 Dirt Modifieds have been included as part of this year's fixture, while there also will be events for Wingless Sprintcars, Production Sedans, Street Stocks, Junior Sedans and Four Cylinder Sedans.

Gates open at 4PM and racing commences at 5:30PM. (ARTICLE BY DENNIS NEWLYN).
