A launch for the 2019-20 season at Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway will be held at the track's showground venue on Thursday, October 31 commencing at 11AM.
Special guests, trackside personnel, race officials, sponsors, City of Lismore council and government parliamentary dignitaries will be in attendance in the countdown to the new season which commences on Saturday, November 2, highlighted with the annual running of the V8 Dirt Modified Lord Mayor's Cup.
“This is a big season coming up, especially with the return of the very popular World Series Sprintcars Championship for a round of the national tournament at Lismore on January 14,” promoter David Lander said.
“There will be guest speakers as well as several announcements relating to the upcoming season at Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway."
The Lismore media also will be in attendance, along with racecar category representatives, while one of the speakers will be the Sport Development Officer from Speedway Australia, Adam Brook.
With the return of World Series Sprintcars to Lismore, details of American drivers involved, in addition to the competitors contracted for the full season WSS campaign, will be announced. A Sprintcar static display also will be featured.
The fully-catered launch will be MCd by Andrew Gordon. The launch also celebrates the fifty-first consecutive season of oval track racing at the historic Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway. (ARTICLE BY DENNIS NEWLYN).
