LISMORE SPEEDWAY DISPLAY A HIGHLIGHT OF 2019 LANTERN PARADE
The Lismore Speedway involvement in this year's 25th anniversary Lantern Parade was a rip roaring success.
The replica race car exhibit constructed out of cane, which was a project involving some of the youngsters who race in the Junior Sedan class at Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway, received much praise and was one of the very popular exhibits in the parade.
Thousands of people turned out to watch the Lantern Parade, estimated a kilometre in length, through the Lismore CBD held on Saturday, June 22.
Organisers report the milestone 25 years resulted in one of the biggest ever attendances for the event involving both participants and spectators.
“The parade was very impressive and it was wonderful to have our Lismore Speedway venue represented in the 2019 Lantern Parade,” promoter David Lander said.
“The crowds were massive and it was a great spectacle. The volunteers did a great job, the kids in our display really enjoyed it and everyone had a good time. The twenty-fifth anniversary Lantern Parade lived up to all expectations and the organisers are to be congratulated on a job well done.”
