SPEEDCARS are an exciting addition to the race card for the January 9 fixture at Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway.
Promoter David Lander successfully completed an agreement with Sydney's Speedcar Association of NSW to have the Mighty Midgets back at the Lismore Showground for what represents one of the biggest meetings of the season also featuring the final round of the Mr Modified Series as well as racing for Wingless Sprintcars, Production and Junior Sedans.
“Speedcars and V8 Dirt Modifieds on the one programme are a very good mix and I am pleased to have Speedcar racing back at the venue, particularly at the high time of the season,” Lander said.
David was recently approached by Speedcar Racing Association of NSW representatives seeking a likely race date due to the current Sydney situation with no racing and little prospect of any track action happening in the immediate future heading into the New Year.
It's anticipated cars from the Brisbane-based Queensland Speedcar Racing Association will make the trip across the border (with the easing of COVID-19 restrictions) to contest the show.
Speedcar racing provides a very special brand of wheel-to-wheel racing and is easily one of the most competitive categories in the sport, particularly on the tight confines of the Lismore Showground bowl.
It's hoped a good car count will be in attendance from the two clubs in order for the Mighty Midgets to be seen at their absolute best.
