CASTROL Edge Lismore Speedway promoter David Lander will conduct a review of the entire upcoming 2020-21 season racing calendar.

Suffice to say there will be some changes and adjustments required in the wake of recent developments as part of the ongoing Coronavirus situation.

The next speedway season will be like no other because of COVID-19. Some of the taken-for-granted season fixtures that have been a part of the national speedway landscape have already become victims of the pandemic.

There's no more significant example than the recent cancellation of the 2020-21 season World Series Sprintcars Championship which always looked under threat due to COVID-19.

“I think it's fair to say, the upcoming national season will be different,” Lander said.

“Restricted crowd numbers will very much play a role as there's no clear indication when even the world will be back to normal, let alone sporting, entertainment and general outdoor events.

“With all that in mind, I am looking closely at the upcoming Lismore season what I will run, what I can run and what I won't run. We will have a season, but I will be going right through the calendar to determine what will be held at the Lismore venue this season."

The opening night of the 2020-21 season at Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway is scheduled for October 17 – DENNIS NEWLYN.
