THE V8 Dirt Modifieds return this Saturday night, April 24, for the season finale at Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway.
It's also a big occasion for the AMCAs with the Northern Rivers Classic to be run and won.
There will also be racing for Wingless Sprintcars, Production Sedans, Street Stocks, Junior Sedans and RSA Four Cylinder Sedans.
A late addition to the card from Brisbane will be the bash and crash stock cars in what will bring down the curtain on another season at the historic Showground venue with a big variety programme.
The V8 Dirt Modifieds will finally get to contest the deciding round of their annual Mr Modified series.
The Mr Modified tournament was set for two rounds over an ongoing point score, however wet weather washed out the final and deciding round in early January. Promoter Dave Lander has been trying to reschedule the event ever since as weather and a recent COVID-19 Brisbane crisis, which meant a border closure at the worst possible time, resulted in the Easter rescheduled series decider being again postponed.
The man they all have to beat for Mr Modified honours is Mitch Randall who raced to a very impressive win in the opening round way back last Boxing Night (December 26). However runner-up that night Andrew Pezzutti and third-placed Mark Robinson are close enough in points to steal a series victory.
It's also an important night for all of the categories with their respecitve track championship to be decided.
There is little in points in many of the divisions so the season finale looms as the most important meeting of the season.
“It just shows how intense the competition is in many of our racing categories.
“Nobody really has a clear advantage to already have clinched the Track Championship for the season and it just adds even more interest to the night's racing,” Lander said.,
