The countdown is on for the commencement of the 2023-24 season on November 4 at Castrol Lismore Speedway.

Under the second season promotion of Mick and Kim Sauer, highlights of the meeting will be the running of the Hernes Security V8 Dirt Modified Lord Mayor’s Cup, with AMCAs, RSA Sedans, Wingless Sprints and Junior Sedans the support categories.

A pre-season practice night will be held on Friday, November 3 in preparation for the start of the new season which, on the evening, also will feature a monster fireworks display.

The promotional team have put the off-season to good use following further upgrades to the venue with a refurbishment of the communication tower and track announcing centre at the start/finish line.

“We are very excited and looking forward to the season ahead, while the long running V8 Dirt Modified Lord Mayor’s Cup is the perfect way to get the season underway. We want to also thank Herne’s Security for coming onboard as sponsor of the event,” Kim Sauer said.

There will be plenty happening in the twenty-four hours before the season commences.

The practice night is open to all sections and is free admission to anyone holding a Speedway Australia licence. Nominations are now being taken via https://forms.gle/oeDjDGKuXuznQCY18

Saturday will be full-on even before a wheel has turned in competition.  A fan appreciation event will be held Saturday morning November 4  between 9 and 11 am at the John Crowther car park, Lismore. All are welcome to check out the huge display of speedway cars. There will be giveaways, driver interviews, merchandise and a BBQ to set the scene for the start of the new season that night.

Gates open on race day at the iconic Lismore Showground Speedway from 1PM for online ticket holders while general admission will be from 3PM.
